JManga, the online comic illustration distributor which started in August of 2o11, has announced today that they will be closing their doors this spring. On May 30th, all purchases made through the distributor will no longer be accessible due to shutting down the DRM servers
Once again, DRM screws no one but the suckers who gave the company money consumers.
But that won’t happen to Comixology, right? Right?

The Viz translation of Grey back in 1988 was one of my first manga I’d ever seen, and along with Shirow’s Black Magic/Appleseed and Battle Angel Alita it made a huge impact on me. And I’d also say Grey is the best ’70s scifi movie that’s actually a late ’80s manga.
And it took me over 20 years to finally see the OVA, Grey: Digital Target. What a disappointing trainwreck that turned out to be. Sure, let’s just make some random story changes and, you know, not even bother to finish that story.
Walking up to the final battle and… credits roll. WTF?
Just disappointing.
