Star Wars #1 (2013): Carlos d’Anda’s Hastings variant cover art.

YouTube commenter UnkleMilk puts it best: “I’m utterly mystified as to why [this video’s] views aren’t in the millions.”
Real talk. I’m actually a little hurt that no one’s sent this to me yet, but I can’t help but be chuffed that–at only 25k views–most of you probably haven’t seen it, either.
Why isn’t this wildly popular? I think the answer lies in how incredibly subtle this video is about how finely it is crafted: the drawings are, at first glance, crude, which doesn’t make for an attractive thumbnail preview. Only when you start watching it–and only if you have an excellent Star Wars recall–do you realize how thorough the creator has been. The less said the better. Watch it first, then see if you noticed the following:
1. That the events of the video plays out in sequence with the events of The Empire Strikes Back, as if Lando is having a long and horrible argument with his girlfriend even at the same time he is rescuing Luke and Leia from Jabba’s palace.
2. That Lando’s using his merc helmet like a bluetooth, even removing it at one point to shout into the mouthpiece.
3. That the animation is semi-3-dimensional.
4. That no lyric is left unillustrated with extremely clever, totally on-topic references and designs from the movies themselves.[this video goes out to Kemp, Carl, Coro, and the rest of the gang back home at the Safehouse Atelier/Studios]

Boba Fett always comes out on top…
