Lego Galaxy Commander

This was my absolute favourite Lego set when I was a kid. The front jet can detach from the weird little radar cubicle on the back.

Side-story: All the little lego spacemen had monochrome space suits. There were Red Spacemen and Black Spacemen and Yellow Spacemen (who always weirded me out because it was like they were naked in space) but the coloured spaceman I coveted above all others was the Blue Spaceman.

And my parents, who are awesome, but the way, totally bought me a set that was supposed to include a Blue Spaceman. But it didn’t have one. I forget if it was just a packaging fuckup or if someone actively took the blue spaceman out of it, but it didn’t have one.

I remember being disappointed, but all I can do now is look back and hope I didn’t do something shameful and throw a tantrum or something. It was still a kick ass giant space robot.

The old Lego space is, and always will be, the best. And I never had a blue space guy, either.

November 23rd was the 11th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s release in the United States and in an effort to celebrate the AWESOME video game that single-handedly transformed and evolved The Legend of Zelda series a million light years above and beyond any other Zelda game that came before it, YouTube user docjazz4 (who appears to be a somewhat accomplished ocarina player himself, along with a few other instruments) recorded this video, among several others, in which he plays music from the game.

The Shop Theme seen above and his version of Zelda’s Lullaby (also featuring a girl on harp) are my personal favorites out of his awesome collection, but if you’re a fan of the game or just generally interested in checking out his work, be sure to visit his YouTube page. You just might be amazed!

Not to mention, who knew the ocarina was still even a popular instrument?! Now all of us do thanks to this guy!
